James Mason's Woes

It's okay, James Mason.

It's only for two weeks, I hope.

And it's doctor's orders.

We have to let the meds and being crated do their work because neither of us wants surgery, do we?

And no more jumping on and off the sofa for you, my dear boy. It's just too risky for dachshunds.

A dog figures you can really do no wrong, though you may be misguided now and then.

    1. We think he may have hurt his back jumping up on the sofa. They have a raised step to jump up and down from but he may have landed wrong. Friday morning he could hardly walk so we took him to vet's for x-rays. He has a disc disease problem the x-rays showed and we're treating the inflammation now and giving him crate and room rest for two weeks at least. And praying so hard that he'll recover from this and with proper care be okay.

  2. Poor James Mason! He doesn't look very happy with his temporary living quarters. I pray that he'll recover and soon be well again.

    1. Thank you, Lorraine! He actually has done pretty well going voluntarily in and out of his crate as he was crated every night at bedtime for the 7 years before we adopted him, even BreeBree tries to go in there with him. But of course one purpose of the crate is to keep her from using him as her pillow at night!

  3. Oh, Dewnena, he looks SO sad, but he also knows that if his mommy and daddy placed him in these temporary lodgings, it must be for a very good reason. He will be fine.

Be patient. All of you. You must miss holding him whenever your heart desires!

    1. That was a rough two weeks on all of us. We're praying that it won't have to be repeated and that he won't have to have surgery. He's such a little trooper!
