Does It Matter?

"I have always had an aversion to the
concept of in style and out of style."
Rose Tarlow

In style...
Out of style...
No style...
Personal style...

What a tightrope we sometimes walk when we blog,
exposing ourselves to possible judgement,
even that of our own, which can be the worst of all.

Why do we do that?

    1. Yes, little 9 year old girls who must grow up! And I think we're getting there, Tam, don't you?

Sometimes my head hurts from learning new tech stuff, but maybe it keeps the little gray cells healthier, what, old bean? Ha!

You found me here on my secret blog! Thank you, dear friend.

  2. Okay, you two techies, I'd bet my easy bake oven you could teach me a thing or two about everything under the sun or falling leaves or snow that a curious 9 year old should know!

    Well?

    XOXO

    1. Please don't bet your easy bake oven on that dear Poppy! But actually I think we can all three say we've learned a few lessons in life, haven't we? Maybe slowly, but we've learned them. Now, for me anyway, to be consistent in it.

I was heading to bed when I saw your comment, Poppy, just had to sit down and reply and say what fun to find you dear friends here. Happy smile on my face as I close down shop for the night here at Across the Way!

  3. How lovely to get an email of a new post from you! :D To me style doesn't matter one little iota! What matters is that blogging as my means of daily artistic expression and is a hell of a lot cheaper that therapy. I'm on of those people who very happily label style-y type bloggers into all sorts of catagories and stay away. (Especially the "white house" decorators who shabby chic the hell out of things...enough!) I'm thinking of popping into Oxford to visit Annie Sloan but I'm much more likely to buy an easy-bake oven (sounds like fun actually) rather than some milk paint. Big hugs for a very Merry Christmas!

    1. Hello Veronica! How nice to see you, and to find out that I'm not the only one unlikely to be transforming my furniture with milk paint, although I admire the talents of some who do. And to step visually into your rooms, Veronica, with sunlight and shadows falling on your furniture, floors and things of nature gathered from nature never fail to make me feel like a cat curling up in a sunny spot.

Are you in England again now? I must come see. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you!
